Bulk SMS can be useful to get a short message out to a large number of people. Bulk SMS will need to be set up with Clickatell.
Creating a Clickatell account
You need Partner Level access to Set up Bulk SMS in Mercury.
First, you will need to set up an account with our SMS provider - Clickatell. Visit: https://www.clickatell.com/
You will need to request Clickatell's legacy version called 'Developer Central'. Use the Contact Us section to contact the Clickatell Sales team. Request a new Developer Central for use with the Mercury API.
Note: Once you have created your account with Clickatell, contact the Mercury Helpdesk on Connective Chat or email firstname.lastname@example.org

Entering your Clickatell account details into Mercury
Now your account has been fully set up, you will need to enter your account details into Mercury.
In the Admin tab select Partner details from the left-hand panel and click on Set up Bulk SMS.
Enter the Clickatell account details:
- Client ID
- API ID
- Password details
- Tick the Active checkbox.
- Tick the Share with Virtual Branches checkbox if required.
- Click Validate Now to check the login details are valid.
- Click Save.
Bulk SMS failure
If you are able to send single SMS messages, but your bulk SMS messages don't get through, you may need to purchase more credits from the SMS provider. Check your Clickatell account to make sure you have enough credits.
If you find you do have enough credits, submit a helpdesk ticket and we can investigate further.
