The Connective Compliance Support Team have created learning modules that you must complete prior to your appointment as a Connective Credit Representative. Log in details will be issued to you as part of the membership application process.
Learning Modules
Firstly, we are so happy that you have decided to join the Connective family. At Connective you can expect superior support as we work with you. These courses have been created to ensure that you understand your responsible lending obligations so that you can rest easy knowing that you have your client’s best interests at heart. The great news is, you get 5 CPD points for completing these courses.
Connective Responsible Lending
As a credit representative of Connective, you are trading under Connective’s Australian Credit Licence. As a licensee, we must ensure that our representatives are trained and competent and comply with responsible lending obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (the “NCCP Act”) when providing credit assistance to consumers.
This course is designed to unravel the complexities of responsible lending under the NCCP Act and guide you through how to conduct a loan transaction that is compliant with regulatory requirements when acting as a finance broker in Australia.
Privacy
The Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) regulates the handling of personal information about individuals, including the collection, use, storage, disclosure, access to and correction of that information.
Given the volume of personal information held in your client files – like identification, date of birth, bank account information to name just a few - it is imperative that your business has appropriate processes in place for handling this personal information.
Fraud Prevention and Awareness
This learning module is designed to increase your awareness of Fraud Prevention. This module has been created as a guide and will assist you in implementing some best practices into your business to minimise any risk.
Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing
This learning module unpacks and highlights the impact of breaching the Act. The learning also demonstrates the connection between mortgage lending and the Act. By completing this learning all credit representatives will understand the expectations of the Act and the penalties for non-compliance.
Conflicts of Interest
This learning module is designed to increase your awareness around what a conflict of interest is and how to best manage that. This module has been created as a guide and will assist you in implementing some best practices into your business to minimise any risk.
Once you have completed the learning and assessments, you can print off a certificate of completion and record CPD hours in your PD register under the Compliance tab in Mercury. Refer to Entering CPD Points Into Mercury.
